Oooh, an award. Of sorts. Unfortunately there’s no shiny trophy, or a glitzy evening out where I can cry my way through an acceptance speech, but there is this pretty picture:
I guess it’s more of a blog hop really, but it’s still lovely to be nominated by Meg anyway! Thank you 🙂
The rules of this game are:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their site
2. Put the award logo on your blog
3. Answer their ten questions
4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees
5. Nominate 10 bloggers for the award
Where does your blog name come from?
My business is named Little Squish after my youngest daughter, so it made sense (to me) that as my blog isn’t 100% to do with my business it’d be called the Further Adventures of a Little Squish.
Who are your most inspirational bloggers?
I’m going to link back to a previous blog for this one as I’d recently picked my favourite blogs.
Money and life committments aside, what would your dream job be?
Hmm, that’s a tough one. I absolutely LOVED being a primary school teacher; it’s the only job I’d ever wanted and the only reason I’m not a teacher any more is so that I’m at home to raise our daughters. I guess I’d go back to that, or maybe teaching sewing. That’d be pretty cool too.
Any great blogger tips for beginners?
Use social media to network with those you think would be interested in your blog. After all, there’s no point in writing great content if no one is reading!
Any must-have beauty items?
I love Diorshow mascara in black, it’s the best mascara I’ve ever tried and it lasts me for ages. I also adore Molton Brown’s Ylang-Ylang bath and shower gel, it’s amazingly relaxing after a long day. What can I say? I have expensive taste!
What’s the best thing that’s happened to you so far in 2014?
One of the best things, and one of the things I’m most proud of, was being asked to contribute to Love Sewing magazine. It’s really boosted my confidence in myself and what I’m doing.
If you could try any new hobby, what would it be?
I would really like to learn to crochet. I like the idea of making cute snuggly things for my girls (and myself). It’s definitely on my to do list for 2015!
Describe your style in three words
Eclectic, colourful, awesome!
Do you have a ‘better-than-your-mums’ recipe?
Haha, I think this should say “better-than-your-Dad’s”, no offence Mom! I think my chicken fried rice is pretty kick-ass. It’s become a bit of a staple on a Friday night, instead of getting a takeaway. I guess you want to know how to make it? Go on then…
Boil one cup (US measurement) of rice and then leave to cool for 20 minutes. Finely chop one onion and saute in a wok with toasted sesame oil. Add the rice and fry for about 5 minutes. Chuck in some peas, cooked shredded chicken and two eggs and fry until the eggs are cooked. Make sure you keep mixing. Add a big splash of dark soy sauce, mix in and you’re done!
Do you follow your heart or your head?
Ooh, a tricky one. I’d like to say head, but I think I’m very easily led by my heart.
My turn to nominate some lovely bloggers then! Ok, in no particular order:
