Wow! I’m absolutely blown away by the number of you that signed up to help me make some quilts for Project Linus UK. Sign up is now closed, and at the last count there were around 80 people signed up. Some of you are even sending me multiple squares (a special shout out here to the gorgeous Sophie Sunshines who has organised quilt squares well into double figures from her sewing group!).
Everyone should have received an email from me last Thursday with further details on what to do (if there’s a Jen J out there thinking “I didn’t get one”, yours bounced back so please get in touch!) and I’ve asked for all of the quilt squares to get to me by 30th July. Don’t worry if yours is a little later, I’ll have plenty to be getting on with it seems!
I’ve had a couple of emails asking if the finished squares are to be 6 x 6 inches, or whether seam allowances should be added. If everyone could stick to a finished size of 6 x 6, that would be great. I’ll admit, I’m no quilter, so maybe I should have asked for seam allowances, but it’ll work out just fine! 🙂
I’m going to do a few posts sharing your wonderful stitching with everyone, and I’ll start with these photos I received from Lisa G this week. I know my girls will love those owl blocks!
I’d also like to give a special shout out to Tricia, one of the proprietors of The Haberdashery, who has very kindly offered to provide some wadding for the quilts. Also thank you to Karen H who is sending me some binding along with her square.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has got involved with this project – whether you’re making something for it, or whether you shared it on social media. How amazing that together we’re going to give some comfort to children who really need it.
