You might have noticed that I’ve been a little embroidery obsessed since Simply Sewing magazine came out last week. I couldn’t wait to try their super simple Material Girl hoop and I’ve been pinning embroidery ideas like a crazy person.
I just love how something so easy can look so effective and give you a real “I made something awesome” boost. So often I start sewing clothes, then I get distracted and the whole thing drags on a bit. This is a great instant gratification kind of craft.
As I mentioned previously, we’re all about My Little Pony here at the moment. Eleanor (who is 3 and a half) absolutely loves it, so I thought embroidering her favourite pony would be a nice little gift.
It was really easy to do. I printed out a picture, lightly traced it into my fabric and stitched over the lines. Et voila!
I have a very impressed daughter this morning! I think I’ve made a rod for my own back though; she wants the rest of the “Mane 6” now!
Here’s a close up, just because I love it.
